We know that many families in Worthing adore animals and recently we shared details of Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare with you as an ideal ‘days out’ option for the kids.  

Following on from that, we’ve rounded up the best farm-based parks in the South of England for you to visit if you fancy trying some new options to get up close and personal with some furry friends.


 First of the list we have Fishers Farm. Located in the beautiful West Sussex countryside, just a 40-minute drive from Worthing, the park offers a great selection of indoor soft play, farm animals and exciting rides for the whole family to enjoy. Day tickets are £14,75 per person and booking online in advance is essential!  


If you drive about 40 minutes east of Worthing, towards Eastbourne, you’ll be able to find the amazing Druscilla’s Park. Experience the best small zoo in the UK, their water parks and child friendly rides for the whole day. Tickets booked online start from £42 for a family of 2 and go up to £105 for a family of 5. 


Knockhatch Adventure Park is another farm park just 1 hour away from Worthing. They offer animal encounters where you can get up close to the animals and learn about them in a safe and friendly environment. There’s also lots of outdoor and indoor playgrounds. Tickets are £14,99 per person.


Blackberry Farm, is a fun and friendly farm park just an hour away from Worthing. Tickets are £10-£12 per person and the whole family will be able to get up close to the animals during their Animal handling sessions, as well as experience their outdoor play areas. 


Middle Farm is is a 625 acre working family farm and is home to some of the friendliest farm animals, which include playful rabbits, guinea pigs, llamas, goats, and fluffy sheep. Make sure to check out their timed events before going! Tickets are £5 per person and it’s a short half hour drive to Lewes.


Marwell Zoo has all the range of animals you’d expect, alongside the giraffes, there are meerkats, snow leopards, cheetahs, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, buffalo and a large collection of birds, reptiles and fishes. There also five children’s adventure playground, two trains that take you around the park and lots of ice cream stands when you need a break. The park is located near Winchester, Hampshire, tickets are £20 for adults and £16 for children. 


Chessington Zoo is also home to Chessington World of Adventure and Chessington SEA LIFE centre, so there will definitely be LOTS to see in one day. Located south of London, it’s a 1 hour and 20-minute drive from Worthing. Tickets are £29.50 if booked in advance, and of course include access to the whole park (Theme Park, Zoo and SEA LIFE Centre).


The Brighton Sea Life Centre is located in the heart. of Brighton, right next to the Pier. Built in 1872 it is the oldest aquarium in the world! Tickets are £16,40 per person and you’ll be able to see some many amazing creatures; from the bright fish, to the big sharks, to the octopuses and turtles!
