We’ve had loads of posts on our Facebook page recently relating to fun days out with the kids, some more specific to dinosaurs or certain specialised features/themes and so we’ve put together a collection of some of the best themed/adventure parks in our locality.

Many are a little further out, so bare this in mind when planning your trip!

We know just how much the little ones adore dinosaurs, and generally every child will go through a dinosaur phase – lucky for us we have some great places to really support and develop this interest!

The infamous Southwater Country Park is a dinosaur lover’s heaven! Follow the dinosaur footprints around the stunning park and lake and you will find dinosaur island! A brilliant adventure playground made up of wooden climbing equipment, sand pit, giant wooden dinosaurs and even a volcano to climb and not too far from Worthing, a perfect place to visit this summer!

Similarly, our local zoo Drusillas have also recently developed and unveiled a brand-new dinosaur themed attraction/area – Jurassic Jungle! Climb through the jaws of a T Rex and you’ll find yourself immersed in dinosaur territory!

The Lost Kingdom dinosaur theme park at Paulton’s Park is not for the fainthearted! Complete with two rollercoasters, Jurassic themed family rides and life-like animatronics, there’s even a dinosaur themed adventure play park – what’s not to love?!

A bit further afield, you’ll find the Lost World of the Dinosaurs nestled in Gulliver’s World in Milton Keynes; 32 animatronic dinosaurs, an adventure play park, petting zoo and dinosaur themed rides; you’ll think you’ve landed straight in Jurassic Park!

Sticking with the pre-historic theme, Howlett’s (Kent) have an extraordinary ‘Animals of the Ice Age’ exhibit, complete with giant, life-like animals woven into their monkey nature walk section of the park.

Do you have an avid bird lover on your hands? Then Birdworld, Farnham is the place for you! The UK’s largest bird park covering a staggering 32 acres and even features an aquarium and children’s farm – the perfect family day out!

For those animal lovers, we are very lucky to have two fantastic zoo/safari parks not too far away; both Marwell and Longleat have fantastic opportunities for families to get up close and personal, learn all they need to know about and see first-hand a diverse range of incredible animals!

Similarly, Port Lympne in Hythe is fast becoming a popular family day out for seeing endangered animals and is Kent’s largest wild animal park spanning over 600 acres. Port Lympne also has its own dinosaur forest to explore too!

Not too far away, we also have the ever popular Tilgate Park Zoo nestled within the gorgeous Tilgate Park in Crawley – a great family day out with so much to offer! From animals, Go Ape, play parks, cafes and stunning grounds, it promises to be a fab day out for the whole family!

Knockhatch Adventure Park in East Sussex is also a fantastic combination of adventure parks and animals  – a fantastic and more local option for family adventures!
